Elm Pointe

Located on M-66 at the point where Monroe Creek winds its way to the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix is Elm Pointe, one of East Jordan's most lovely parks. Elm Pointe is the site of the pioneer homestead of John Munro and Marceline LaLonde Munro and their family. The property, containing 11 acres of land with frontage on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix, was given to the City of East Jordan in 1972 by then-owners Augustine F. Westgate and her husband George.

The Elm Pointe location has been added to the Michigan National Historic Register.

• The home on the property is available for weddings, family reunions, graduation parites, etc. The park has a beach and picnic areas and is open 10 a.m.- 10 p.m., May 15 through October 15.
• The East Jordan Portside Art and Historical Museum is also located on the property. Admission to the park and museum are free of charge.
• The Cygred Riley Art Gallery celebrates the present with a fine display of art purchased from prize winning participants in the annual Portsdie Arts Fair.
• The muesum & gallery are open Thursday through Sunday from 1 -4 p.m. in July and August and on weekends in June, September and October.
• For more information you can call Elm Pointe at (231) 536-2363 during months of operation. For Reservations, please contact City Hall at (231) 536-3381.
